Paced by an All-University Athletic Association finish for junior distance runner Jack Begley, the Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team finished the first day of the UAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the Bushyhead Track in St. Louis, Missouri in fifth place with 29 points.
Carnegie Mellon leads the conference after the first day with 78 points, followed by host Washington University in St. Louis (77 points), University of Chicago (54), and Emory University (48).
Begley placed third in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:12.43. It is Begley's third All-UAA honor this season after earning two at the Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 3,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run in February.
