The Case Western Reserve University baseball team dropped the opening game of a four-game series against Washington University (Mo.) 10-0 on Friday afternoon at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland, Ohio.
With the loss, the Spartans fell to 18-16 on the season, including a 9-4 record in the University Athletic Association. Regardless of the loss, CWRU remained in first place in the conference standings, and will enter the final three games of the league schedule either tied for first or one game ahead of Emory, depending on the Eagles' results on Friday against Brandeis.
Washington improved to 11-18 overall with a 3-10 mark in the UAA.
