The Case Western Reserve University baseball team fell 7-4 to Emory University on Friday afternoon at Chappell Park in Atlanta, Georgia in the team's first University Athletic Association game of the season.
The Spartans fall to 6-10 on the season and 0-1 in conference play, while the Eagles improve to 14-8 overall and 1-0 in the UAA.
Case Western Reserve struck first in the second inning, when junior first baseman Nick Talarico scored on a throwing error. Talarico walked to lead off the inning, advancing to second on a single from junior second baseman Trey Haley, and scored via two Emory errors.
