Case Western Reserve University junior first baseman Nick Talarico got the Spartans off to a strong start with a three-run home run in the first inning, and five pitchers combined to allow just four hits, as the Spartans claimed a 7-1 win on the road against the Adrian College Bulldogs on Monday night.
The win was the third-straight victory for the Spartans, who improved to 15-13 overall. Adrian dropped to 11-9 following the loss.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Reece Marley started and earned the win to improve to 4-3 for the season, while lowering his earned run average to 2.
