Case Western Reserve University graduate student catcher Tre Armstrong and graduate student pitcher Evan Faxon were named University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for their performance last week.
Armstrong, the UAA Hitter of the Week, led the way for the Spartans offensively in the team's doubleheader sweep over 17th-ranked Washington & Jefferson on Saturday in Washington, Pennsylvania. Armstrong went five-for-seven at the plate across the two games with two triples and two runs batted in, recording a .750 on-base percentage and 1.286 slugging percentage. In Case Western Reserve's 5-1 win in the opening game, Armstrong got the Spartans on the board in the fourth inning, scoring on a grounder to the third baseman after tripling earlier in the inning.
