Case Western Reserve University freshman sprinter Rasheed Ajala and sophomore thrower Cassandra Laios were named the University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for track and field, following their performances at the season-ending Great Lakes Elite Meet at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio on Thursday.
Ajala ran the anchor leg of the Spartans' 4x100-meter relay team, which broke the school record in the event with a time of 41.88 seconds, while finishing third overall. He also placed fourth in the finals of the 100-meter dash, setting a new personal-best time of 10.
