With next year marking the 50th-year of athletic competition at CWRU, we will be taking a look back at some of the teams and alumni throughout the program's history.
This week, we spoke with CWRU football Head Coach Greg Debeljak & former players Dan Whalen, Bobby Bott & Jeff Mayer to discuss the team's 21-20 win over Widener in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Division III playoffs, the first-ever postseason win in program history. Trailing 20-15 with under two minutes left in the game, Whalen led the team down the field, converting three fourth down plays, including a game-winning touchdown pass to Mayer with two seconds left in the game.
