The Case Western Reserve University baseball team will take the field for the first time in nearly a year when they open-up their 2021 season at home against Hiram College on Saturday. The Spartans will lean on a squad loaded with talented returners, while adding a number of incoming players who could make an immediate impact on the roster.
The Spartans finished their pandemic-abbreviated 2020 campaign with a 5-5 overall record, and had begun to build some momentum, winning back-to-back games when the season was halted. CWRU hit .267 as a team and averaged 5.5 runs per contest over their 10 games, while pitching to a 3.
