The 23rd-ranked Case Western Reserve University football team was picked to finish second in the Presidents' Athletic Conference in a poll of the league's coaches and sports information directors and local media, conducted at the PAC Media Day on Thursday afternoon at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
The Spartans claimed a share of the PAC Championship in 2017, reaching the second round of the NCAA playoffs and finishing the campaign with an 11-1 overall record.
The 2018 Spartans received 265 points and eight of the 30 first-place votes in the preseason poll, finishing behind only Washington and Jefferson, which collected 19 first place votes and 289 total points.
