The 19th-ranked Case Western Reserve University men's basketball team opened play at the Bill Sudeck Tournament with a 78-66 win over Oberlin College at Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday night. The Spartans improved to 2-0 on the year following the win, while Oberlin dropped to 0-2. CWRU will advance to the Sudeck Tournament Championship game on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. against Dickinson, which defeated Allegheny 78-62 earlier in the evening. Oberlin and Allegheny will face off in the consolation game at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The win was also the 12th-consecutive non-conference regular season win for the Spartans, dating back to last season.
