It didn’t take long for the defensive side of the football to match it’s counterpart in players named to the NFL Network’s, “Top 100 Players of 2016”. In previous episodes, running back Jonathan Stewart (86) and center Ryan Kalil (79) had earned honors for the offense, but Kawann Short (58) and Thomas Davis at number 54 evened the score on Wednesday.
Davis started all 16 regular season and three post-season games, despite suffering a broken right arm in the NFC Championship game. With 123 tackles during 2015, Davis moved to the top spot on the list in Panthers’ franchise history.
