The Panthers hired their first female coaching intern for offseason team activities.

Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer wrote a great piece yesterday on Jennifer King, the first female coaching intern for the Carolina Panthers. King has been working with the Panthers during offseason training activities and will stay with the team through the end of this week’s minicamp.

If Ron Rivera has his way, though, she’ll stick around a little while longer:

Rivera said he wished he had brought King in earlier in the spring. He also indicated that he’d like to have her stay on the staff through training camp, though he was not sure if that was a possibility when asked this week.
