While it is not unusual for the Panthers to keep two kickers, it’s something they did for a few seasons in the John Kasay era. But this is not that situation. Both of these kickers can handle both aspects of the kicking role, it’s just that Gano isn’t reliable to kick the game winners. But instead we have Marty Hurney says things like this:
