According to multiple reports, the Houston Texans signed former Carolina Panthers left tackle Matt Kalil to a one-year deal yesterday.
Kalil signed a five-year, $55 million deal with the Panthers in 2017. He was expected to protect Cam Newton’s blindside for all five of those years, but his production had drastically decreased. He missed all of the 2018 season due to a right knee injury. Check out the numbers below.
Judging by their recent free agency moves, the Panthers seem dedicated to rebuilding a better offensive line in order to protect Newton, who is still recovering from his shoulder injury.
