The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the nominees for its 2018 class last night. To the surprise of Panthers fans, and astute observers of the game nationwide, former Giants, Steelers, and Eagles wide receiver was listed among the candidates.
The 6 year veteran (not 16 year) of the NFL, who favored the number 12 jersey (not 89), logged 245 receptions (not 1,031) in 64 games (not 219) for 2,641 yards (not 14,731) and 12 touchdowns (not 81) in his career. All of these numbers would drastically reset the benchmarks for what are considered Hall of Fame worthy statistics for a wide receiver.
