Stephen Hill waived by Panthers, sign Paul Browning

The Carolina Panthers made one roster move on Sunday by waiving wide receiver Stephen Hill, who tore his ACL during training camp on Saturday. His roster spot was quickly filled by Paul Browning, an intriguing UDFA who will get chances to shine in Spartanburg.

It was a rough week for Hill, who earlier in the week was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. The Panthers didn't make a quick judgement following his legal problems, instead allowing him to travel to Spartanburg to begin practice -- but that didn't last long. An MRI revealed Sunday that the leg injury that pulled him from practice was an ACL tear, and that he would miss the 2015 season.
