The Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday announced that running back Le’Veon Bell is out for the season after suffering a torn medial collateral ligament in the team’s 16-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. To add insult to injury, at least one member of the Steelers believes there was a deliberate effort on the Bengals behalf to take Bell out.
Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster accused Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict — the player responsible or the hit on Bell midway through the second quarter — of purposely trying to injure Bell.
“I am sure they were aiming to take somebody out today and kudos to them, they did the job,” Foster said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
