The Carolina Panthers on Wednesday worked out former tight end Eric Wallace, who failed to reach the team’s 53-man roster in September, according to a league source.
Sources also told WRALSportsFan that Carolina brought in several other players at multiple positions for workouts Wednesday, including cornerback, defensive line, quarterback and tight end.
Wallace, a former college basketball and Australian rules football, player signed a three-year deal on July 25 with Carolina. Prior to signing with the Panthers, Wallace hadn’t played football since the age of 14.
The Winston-Salem native spent three seasons with the North Melbourne Football Club of the Australian Football League before returning to North Carolina last November to peruse his dream of playing in the National Football League.
