Charlotte, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers on Tuesday re-signed veteran defensive tackle Kyle Love, according to a league source.
Love, who was among the team’s final roster cuts on Sept. 3, signed with Carolina in December of 2014 and appeared in 15 regular season games last year en route to Super Bowl 50.
With Carolina’s 2016 first-round pick Vernon Butler sidelined with a high ankle sprain, Love will shift into the defensive tackle rotation along with Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short and Paul Soliai.
Butler was seen wearing a protective cast on his right foot Monday at the Panthers’ facilities in Charlotte.
