The Cleveland Browns released Phil Taylor today, just three days after he got on the field for the first time in nearly ten months (in a preseason game vs the Bucs). Before you dismiss a player that was not good enough to play for the Browns, allow me to tell you more about him.
Taylor was a the 21st pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, but has only played in all 16 games once, his rookie season, and only played in five last season due to a knee injury.
Entering his fifth season in the NFL, Taylor is no doubt a veteran presence, and at 6'3/334 fits the type of defensive tackle preferred by Dave Gettleman.
