CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sean McDermott couldn’t stop smiling.
He was so excited about being asked whether seeing Luke Kuechly on the sideline carrying a clipboard was like glimpsing a future version of himself that the Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator forgot what the next question was.
“My wife will be happy," McDermott said before asking a reporter to repeat his question. “I got compared to Luke. That made my day."
Things will get even better for McDermott if Kuechly can return from the concussion protocol for Monday night’s game against the Washington Redskins.
