BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Ron Rivera was trying to shove a biscuit into his mouth on Monday when a couple of reporters reached out to shake his hand.
He avoided a crumb-filled handshake with a fist bump.
A few minutes later, a stranger approached to shake the hand of the Carolina Panthers coach, who by this time had scarfed down the quick snack.
This was the way Rivera spent much of his first two days at the NFL owners meeting. People who before the Panthers won the NFC Championship either didn’t stop him or didn’t know who he was now wanted a moment of his time.
