Ron Rivera calls on architect of Osama bin Laden raid to help with 'Super Bowl Hangover'

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- In his search to help the Carolina Panthers get past the disappointment of losing the Super Bowl, Ron Rivera turned to a man who spent many disappointing years searching for Osama bin Laden.

Coaches often turn to friends and others in their profession for advice. Rivera did that, too, in the aftermath of a 24-10 loss to Denver in Super Bowl 50.

But Rivera took it one step further, reaching out to a man he’d never met, retired Adm. William McRaven, the architect of the 2011 raid that killed bin Laden in his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
