REPORT: David Tepper purchases Carolina Panthers

It appear at long last, the Carolina Panthers have a new owner. Pittsburgh Steelers minority owner David Tepper has completed a deal to purchase the team per multiple reports. This story was first reported by WBNG.com.

The final sale price was a pretty penny as Tepper bought the team for between $2.1-$2.5 billion per a report from Gabrielle McMillen of The Sporting News. Tepper is worth a total of $11 billion.

There is a caveat here. Tepper will have to relinquish his stake as part owner of the Steelers. However, since he is only a part owner, that should not be too difficult.
