The Carolina Panthers are really feeling that mid-season injury pain, and it has just gotten worse as Stephen Weatherly and Reggie Bonnafon, two key rotational pieces, will now miss the rest of the season.
Weatherly injured his finger in last week’s loss to the Chiefs, and had surgery on Friday. With him out of the lineup Yetur Gross-Matos is sure to get the lion’s share of work, followed by Marquis Haynes and Efe Obada in rotational roles.
Bonnafon re-injured the ankle that he already missed five weeks for this week in practice, and because this is his second time on the reserve/injured list, he can not be activated again.
