NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Carolina defense shut down Tennessee's offense after halftime to help the Panthers improve to 9-0 on the season with a 27-10 victory at Nissan Stadium.
The Panthers never trailed but never enjoyed more than a one-score lead until Graham Gano hit a 19-yard field goal with 9:06 left in the game. Gano also booted a 48-yarder late in the third quarter. Quarterback Cam Netwon sealed it with a 2-yard touchdown run with 2:42 to go, capping a 64-yard march that started with a one-handed grab by tight end Greg Olsen and nine consecutive running plays from there.
