CHARLOTTE – The Carolina Panthers triumphed in their home opener Sunday at Bank of America Stadium, outlasting the Houston Texans 24-17 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.
After the defenses dominated throughout much of the first half, the offenses struck back in the third quarter. The Texans, trailing 10-3 at halftime, went no-huddle to start the third quarter and pieced together a long scoring drive. After mustering just 93 first-half yards, they marched 80 yards for the tying score, capped by a remarkable catch in the back of the end zone by tight end Garrett Graham on third-and-3 from the 8.
