Panthers fans have to be excited about first-round pick defensive end, Brian Burns. Burns was able to sack opposing quarterbacks four times as well as force a fumble throughout his first preseason in the NFL. The other rookie receiving praise is offensive tackle Greg Little. Little was the Panthers’ second-round draft pick who is expected to protect franchise quarterback Cam Newton for years to come.
The Panthers seem to have produced another solid draft, but that might not have even been the highlight of their offseason. Carolina was able to acquire center Matt Paradis, linebacker Bruce Irvin and defensive end Gerald McCoy in free agency.
