CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera won’t have to look hard for ammunition to maintain that “us-against-the-world’’ mentality he promised won’t go away after Sunday’s 27-23 victory at Seattle.
The Panthers (5-0) are 15th in the latest power rankings put out by the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas. Seattle (2-4) is No. 5 and upcoming opponent Philadelphia (3-3) is No. 7.
The Panthers still rank last among the undefeated teams in ESPN’s power poll, moving up a spot to sixth. The Arizona Cardinals (4-2), losers of two of their last three games, rank fourth.
Rivera said on Monday he wants to keep the “chip’’ the Panthers have been playing with in terms of having something to prove.
