CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- “Green-dog blitz! Green-dog blitz! Green-dog blitz!’’
Carolina Panthers right tackle Mike Remmers probably heard that in his sleep in the weeks after a 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
The entire offensive line had to be haunted by a defensive strategy that the Broncos say paved the way for outside linebacker Von Miller to strip-sack NFL MVP Cam Newton twice -- both over Remmers’ side -- leading to 15 points that were the difference in the game.
But ask any member of the line what went wrong as they prepare for the rematch in Thursday’s NFL opener at Denver and the answer is the same.
