As players have been reporting for training camp, the Carolina Panthers have announced a few roster moves that will affect the bottom of the depth chart at two positions, and probably not move the needle too much on a third. DE Ryan Delaire and WR Charles Johnson have been waived, and C Greg Van Roten has been acquired.
Ryan Delaire reportedly failed his physical, presumably struggling to recover from various knee injuries sustained over his recent career, and which landed him on IR twice this past season. Delaire was expected to be a long shot to make the roster at this point with the Panthers having loaded up on a mix of veteran DEs and draft picks at the position, but he still had a shot.
