Charlotte, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers on Saturday promoted defensive end Larry Webster from their practice squad ahead of the team’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Carolina waived wide receiver Brenton Bersin to make room for Webster on the team’s 53-man roster. The team also waived wide receiver Kevin Norwood from injured reserve.
Webster, selected in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, signed as a free agent with Carolina in January.
The Elkton, Md., native spent the 2015 season on Detroit’s practice squad and has yet to play in an NFL game.
