Charlotte, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have waived wide receiver Charles Johnson and defensive end Ryan Delaire, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Johnson was waived after undergoing surgery on his right knee, and Delaire was waived due to a failed physical.
Delaire appeared in six games last season for Carolina, tallying five tackles and one sack. Carolina signed Johnson in March and will be placed on injured reserve if he is not claimed, according to the team’s official website.
Carolina also announced the signing of free agent center Greg Van Roten.
Roten was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Penn in 2012.
