After initially getting down to the 53-man threshold, the Carolina Panthers claimed a few guys off waivers from other teams. This meant that the team would need to make room for the new faces. One of the players claimed was defensive end Shareef Miller, and the Panthers decided to make room for him by cutting another defensive end: Efe Obada. Obada was a fan favorite for his hard-working attitude and incredibly inspiring story. Previously the victim of human trafficking, he finally made England home, where he was introduced to football through the NFL’s International Pathways program.
