On the Panthers first defensive drive, they shut down the Texans for a 3 and out with a sack on Kawann Short. On the punt, Kelvin Benjamin brought in a long reception to put them into scoring range. The Panthers first team units seemed to be clicking on all cylinders. However, Graham Gano missed the first field goal for the Panthers, not a good sign for the kicker supposedly ahead in the kicking battle.
After another 3 and out by the Texans offense, the Panthers came back with some good plays on offense.
