Last week’s win was an all important first step towards making this season successful. It signified not only a better start to the year than last season, but it also got the Panthers’ longest road trip out of the way. Can’t get much better than that. What can afford to get better, though, is the offense.
Cam Newton finally saw game time action, and it was really more of what we expected to have happen and then some. Missed receivers, poorly thrown passes, forcing the ball, etc. Newton looked jumpy, and the offense struggled as a result, which again was to be expected after his shoulder injury (which still isn’t totally healed no matter what the team says) and not playing much at all in the preseason.
