This is an article Carolina Panthers fans may not be too happy about. On the other hand, this may be something they have noticed. Monday, Tim Weaver of PanthersWire.com wrote a piece that discussed the Panthers’ pace of play in 2017. Let’s just say it was less than ideal.
Per statistics used from FootballOutsiders.com, the Carolina Panthers played at the slowest pace in 2017. They took 29.35 seconds per offensive play. For comparison, the San Francisco 49ers had the fastest pace in the National Football League with 25.58 seconds per play. It is easy to see why Norv Turner was hired and he certainly has a lot of work ahead of him.
