In the Spring of 2015, after his first of three straight 1,000 yard seasons, Panthers’ tight end Greg Olsen signed an extension through 2018. Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer reported that Olsen, the league’s seventh-highest paid TE, has told the team that he wants a new contract.
Since signing that extension, Olsen has been a top three graded tight end in the past three seasons including a career high in 2016 (87.5).
The former Miami Hurricane has had at least 300 receiving yards from the slot every year since 2012 and led the league receiving yards from the slot by a tight end this past season (509).
