CHARLOTTE – Eric Wallace, a former college basketball and Australian football player who last played the NFL version of football at the age of 14, has signed with the Carolina Panthers.
Wallace, a North Carolina native, signed a three-year deal, the standard contract for an undrafted rookie.
"I grew up a Carolina fan," Wallace said. "Today, the dream came true."
To make room on the 90-man roster, the Panthers waived wide receiver Kobi Hamilton.
Wallace played basketball one year at Ohio State and three years at DePaul. After a year of graduate school, in the summer of 2012, he looking into his options for playing pro basketball overseas when he was approached about playing Australian Rules Football.
