The Panthers made another move today, adding veteran safety Michael Griffin. Griffin was a two time Pro Bowler with the Tennessee Titans. He spent this past offseason trying to make the Vikings team, but failed.
Michael Griffin provides a veteran presence that Dave Gettleman and Ron Rivera really covet in the secondary. The 31 year old’s best football appears to be behind him at this point, but he can provide some rotational value and depth value. Tre Boston is still a younger player learning the game next to Kurt Coleman. Behind them was only Colin Jones, a career special teamed, and Marcus Ball who they recently brought up from the practice squad.
