The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a one-year deal with defensive end Wes Horton after waiving wide receiver Damiere Byrd, the team announced Friday.
Horton has appeared in 34 games for Carolina over the past three years, tallying 41 tackles, six sacks and two forced fumbles.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said Horton could see time at defensive tackle on Sunday in New Orleans due to the injuries to Paul Soliai and Vernon Butler.
