The Carolina Panthers have moved safety Juston Burris to injured reserve and promoted center Sam Tecklenburg from the practice squad in a corresponding roster move. Burris left the Houston Texans game in Week 3 with a groin injury.
Injured reserve requires a player to miss at least three weeks before returning to the active roster. The team had initially been optimistic that Burris could be heal on a shorter timeline, but have ultimately decided that is not likely. The earliest Burris can now return for the Panthers is Week 7 for their October 24th game against the New York Giants.
