The Panthers made an interesting move this afternoon by promoting practice squad quarterback Garrett Gilbert to the 53-man roster. Gilbert replaces S Dezmen Southward on the roster, who was apparently cut according to Max Henson who claims there are now two open spots on the practice squad.
QB Gilbert has taken S Dez Southward's spot on active roster. And with DL Purcell released, Panthers now have 2 open practice squad spots.

There’s no word yet on who will take those two open practice squad spots, but if I were you I’d get ready for an announcement for a certain wide receiver who hails from Wofford College to make his way back to Charlotte.
