Football fandom is a fickle thing. The Carolina Panthers have been one of the worst teams in football over the last seven years. Everything about watching them as a fan has fallen on a spectrum between painful and boring. Last year's faceplanting efforts to pair Frank Reich, the purported voice of experience and competence, with first overall draft pick Bryce Young was the disaster cherry on a long expired sundae of sadness.
So it's kind of wild now that Young is showing promise, the team is playing good football and putting up close games against some of the best teams in the league, and the future is looking bright once again, and yet some fans are getting tired of these close-but-not-quite losses after three weeks.
