Panthers re-sign DE Wes Horton to two-year deal

Charlotte, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a two-year contract with restricted free agent defensive end Wes Horton, the team announced Monday morning.

Financial terms of the contract were not released.

Horton appeared in 11 games last season for Carolina with 10 starts last season. He recorded 13 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

The four-year defensive end joined Carolina in 2013 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Southern California.

Horton has taken an unconventional route to solidify his place on Carolina’s roster after being released and re-signed three times since 2015.
