CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers are “re-emphasizing’’ the security check process after four protesters got rappelling equipment into Bank of America Stadium for Monday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Director of security Lance Emory said officials still are unsure how or when the equipment was brought into the stadium.
“We do know the suspects entered the stadium legitimately and they purchased tickets through the [NFL] ticket exchange for the upper deck,’’ Emory said on Tuesday. “We are conducting an inquiry as to how the rappelling equipment got in.’’
Two of the protesters used the equipment to hang over the lower bowl in front of the press box late in the third quarter with a banner that read “BOA dump Dominion.
