Carolina Panthers running back Cameron Artis-Payne has a July 15 court date after a weekend arrest on charges of speeding and reckless driving for allegedly going 102 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to North Carolina court records.
Artis-Payne was stopped at 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 85 in Gaston County (N.C.), according to the court records. There were no other charges other than the traffic charges and there was no accident involved. Unsecured bond was set at $5,000.
Artis-Payne had 183 yards and one touchdown in 45 carries last season. The Panthers started voluntary workouts Monday.
