CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton smiled when asked on Wednesday if he’s having more fun now than at any point during his four-plus NFL seasons.
“Yes, for obvious reasons,’’ Newton said.
Asked to explain, he said, “We’re undefeated.’’
Newton wasn’t a very good loser early in his NFL career. He often sat alone on the sideline with a towel over his head during losses.
It got so bad that former Carolina wide receiver Steve Smith told the first pick of the 2011 draft during a setback to the New York Giants to stop sulking on the sideline.
