The Panthers have promoted defensive end Larry Webster from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. To make room on the active roster, the team waived wide receiver Brenton Bersin.
Defensive end Charles Johnson is questionable for the game with a quad injury but did make the trip to Atlanta. Webster, a former fourth-round draft choice, has never played in an NFL game. He spent the entire 2015 season on the Detroit Lions’ practice squad.
The Panthers also have waived wide receiver Kevin Norwood from injured reserve.
