Panthers Position Review – Special Teams

Minus the departure of Josh Norman, the nucleus of the 2015 team that earned a trip to Super Bowl 50 will remain intact on both offense and defense. However, another Carolina Panthers’ player also elected to test the free agent market and found more money outside of Carolina — punter Brad Nortman.

Though Nortman was a middle of the road (17th in net yards) punter by the numbers, he found $8.8 million reasons to move south to Jacksonville this offseason.

Again though, general manager Dave Gettleman was prepared for Nortman’s departure and had already added punter Swayze Waters prior to Nortman’s departure and also signed Michael Palardy before the draft.
